What are the current Covid-19 restrictions and requirements?

Currently, there are no restrictions on travel.
Are US citizens allowed to enter Italy?
Yes. Currently, US citizens are allowed to enter Italy for all reasons, including tourism. There are restrictions and requirements.

Do I need to quarantine upon arrival in Italy?
As long as you follow the guidelines and requirements laid out by the Embassy, you will not need to quarantine in Italy.
Do I have to be vaccinated?
Currently, you do not need to provide proof of vaccination

Do I need to get tested for COVID-19 to travel TO Italy?
Currently, NO.
In any case, passengers are reminded to check the travel procedure with their airline and to strictly follow the instructions received from the airline itself.
Do I need to get tested for COVID-19 to RETURN to the US?
No. This is no longer a requirement for US citizens
Are all of the churches and museums open?
Yes, churches and museums are currently open, including, St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museums (Sistine Chapel), Colosseum and all other churches we plan to visit. Masks are no longer required.
